WYRA’s Competitive Crew is the most competitive program within the WYRA organization. They have races in both the fall and spring seasons. WYRA crews compete in fall “head” races (2.75 – 3mile time trials), winter indoor ergometer races, and traditional sprint (1500m-2000m) races in the spring. Both the fall and spring seasons have roughly 4-5 races. There is winter training for those rowers who want to workout but don’t take a winter sport at school. Those days and times will be announced closer to the start of the season.
Practice in the fall is 5 days a week: Tuesday – Friday from 3:30 – 6PM and Saturday mornings from 8:30 – 11am. The races happen to all fall on Sundays this season. The summer is a bit more intensive with practice being held up to 6 days a week depending on the crew your in.
Varsity practice is Monday – Friday 3:30 – 6PM
Novice Crews – Tuesday – Friday 3:30 – 6PM
All crews practice Saturday morning 8:30 – 11AM
The fall, 2010 season costs $1,120.00
